BAU: Sarawakians must safeguard the unity and harmony which have bonded them all these years.

Let us continue living in harmony irrespective of race and religion, to be leading example to others. Datuk Anthony Nogeh Gumbek, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries

This is because the mutual respect and tolerance among them are elements which set the state apart from others, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agrobased Industries Datuk Anthony Nogeh Gumbek reminded.

“Let us continue living in harmony irrespective of race and religion, to be leading example to others,” he said when closing a basketball tournament at Bau Sports Complex on Monday night.

The Mas Gading MP and Progressive Democratic Party ( PDP) secretary general praised Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bau branch for organising the tournament.

He said the tournament provided a platform for youths to be engaged in healthy activities, while attracting people to come to Bau to watch the matches.

“Our youths can participate in healthy activities and this keeps them away from undesirable acts.

“I always believe that healthy bodies lead to healthy minds,” he said.

A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament. The final match saw Pitbulls defeating 7th Mile Basketball Club 62- 59 to clinch the winning title.
