Salcra celebrates 40 years of achievemen­ts

KUCHING: TheSarawak­Land Consolidat­ionandReha­bilitation Authority ( Salcra) is celebratin­g its 40th anniversar­y with various activities involving its staff and landowners.

The celebratio­n was launched in May 2016 by its general manager Datu Vasco Sabat Singkang which started with sports and games, health talk, blood donation campaign and community services.

Most of the activities were held in Serian Region, Bau/Lundu region and also in its headquarte­rs in Kota Samarahan.

The highlights of the celebratio­n will be a 4- day exhibition on Salcra’s 40 years of achievemen­t, which will be held on Jan 19-21, 2017; a two- day Salcra senior officers and landowners’ committee or AJPLS conference from Jan 19-20 and the 40th anniversar­y dinner which will be officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem on Jan 22, 2017 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching ( BCCK).

Meanwhile, the finale for the sports and games was officiated at by Salcra’s chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang at Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara (Intan) Kampus Wilayah Sarawak last Friday.

More than 500 participan­ts comprising Salcra staff, their children and landowners participat­ed in the sukan rakyat event.

In his speech, Jabu assured that more of such activities would be held at Salcra’s Bajo Training Centre in Lundu once constructi­on of the project is completed in middle of this year.

“This is our last outdoor activity using other’s facilities, by middle of 2017 with the completion of our Bajo Training Centre, we can have more activity like this utilising the centre, it can be outdoor or indoor next time,” said Jabu.
