Johnny Chin among top 10 make-up artists for 2016
MIRI: Johnny Chin Ming Yang recently received the ‘ Top 10 Outstanding Make-up Artist Authoritative Award for 2016’ at the 27th Korea International Beauty and Health Olympic held in COEX Convention & Exhibition Centre in Seoul, South Korea.
After receiving the BHL (Beauty and Health Licence) from the Korea International Beauty and Health Licence Association, Chin became a training director.
The Miri-born 28-yearold graduated from Whitney Academy, the International School of Beauty and Makeup based in Kuala Lumpur in 2009, majoring in Advanced Diploma in Master Commercial Creative Art of Makeup and Hairstyling course. Working in several beauty and make-up academy in Malaysia as a professional makeup artist cum tutor, he acquired the experience to teach countless students to become make-up artists.
The professional makeup artist has served many famous persons globally such as Paris Hilton, Phua Chu Kang, Kimberly Chen, Lara and Gary Chaw.
He was involved in behindthescenes film productions, commercial TVC productions, concerts, radio stations, anniversary gala, television programmes, international beauty pageant and magazines.
Chin is planning to return to his hometown Miri to set up a professional make-up academy, conducting a professional diploma programme on the latest trend and technique in beauty and makeup.
He said students are taught according to the curriculum before sitting for the Malaysian Skill Certificate and International Licence Certification which is required to find employment.
