KUCHING: National Association of Malaysian Life Insurance and Family Tafakul Advisors ( Namlifa) Kuching Branch will be holding a series of membership drives and talks to enable it to reach its goal of 10,000 members in 2017.

“Currently, Namlifa has slightly more than 6,000 members throughout the country and we hope to achieve our objective this year,” branch publicity spokesperson Winnie Lim said when met before a talk organised by the branch for its members on Tuesday night at the Kuching South City Council ( MBKS) Auditorium.

She disclosed that Namlifa planned to hold a recruitment workshop the next day (yesterday) at a hotel here in the city to help ensure that they can meet the target.

“We hope to reach out to more insurance agents to take up Namlifa membership which is good for the industry,” she said.

Lim also revealed that the association will be doing similar membership drives and talks in Miri (today), Tawau ( Jan 6), Sandakan (Jan 7) and Kota Kinabalu (Jan 8).

Earlier, Lim told reporters the talk would be on how to kick start the new year with new goals and matters relating to the life insurance industry in Malaysia, including the association’s objective of recruiting 10,000 members this year.

The opening remarks at the talk was given by Namlifa’s Kuching Branch chairwoman Rosella Bong who was followed by Steven Bui, a guest speaker from Taiwan.

Earlier during the day, Namlifa members visited Cheshire Home Kuching for charity works. They were led by Namlifa national council president James Bong.
