Nogeh enjoys good working ties with Henry
BAU: Mas Gading MP Datuk Anthony Nogeh Gumbek says he enjoys good working relationship with Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep in bringing more development to the constituency.
Speaking during a pre- Chinese New Year dinner at Tondong on Sunday, Nogeh pointed out that the MP and assemblymen in the parliamentary constituency must be able to work together with one another to facilitate the implementation of development programmes slated for benefiting all constituents.
“The presence of Datuk Henry and I at this dinner shows that both of us – the MP and the ADUN (assemblyman) – can work together.
“This is aided by the fact that we are also from the same party – Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP).
“I hope this working relationship between MP and ADUN would remain, so that we could bring more development to Tasik Biru in particular, and Mas Gading in general,” he said.
Meanwhile Henry, who spoke earlier, said Nogeh – also SPDP secretary- general, was his ‘boss’ in the party and also his ‘boss’ in the constituency.
In view of the 14th general election ( GE14), he called on all Barisan Nasional ( BN) components in Tasik Biru and also BN supporters to work together again to ensure that BN would retain Mas Gading.
“Let us support him ( Nogeh). Together with our colleagues in SPDP, we will work together with PBB ( Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu), SUPP (Sarawak United People’s Party) and PRS ( Parti Rakyat Sarawak), to ensure a win for BN so that more development can come, including to Tondong,” he said.
On another matter, Nogeh – also Deputy Agriculture and Agro- based Industry Minister – said the construction of a stretch of Pan Borneo Highway passing Tondong would open up more business opportunities in this bazaar.
He said the completion of the highway project would not only offer business opportunities to those involved in housing and real estate development, but also those in the food and beverages sector.
“The good road connectivity will see more motorists using this stretch. There will be more visitors from Kuching and other places.
“As such, I call on businessmen here to come up with signature items to attract them to stop and visit Tondong,” he said.
PermanentsecretarytoTourism, Arts and Culture Ministry Datu Ik Pahon Joyik, Bau District officer Anielia Siam, PRS information chief Datuk Wilfred Rata Nissom, PBB Tasik Biru chief John Nyigor, SUPP Tasik Biru chief Chong Bui Ling, SPDP Tasik Biru chief Michael Siten, Pemanca Bong Jong Long and Penghulu Liew Chiew Hian were among those present.
