Cash more practical as schooling aid — PAS Bintulu

-

BINTULU: The schooling aid scheme, especially for the lowincome and needy families, should be expanded and simplified, said Parti Islam Se-Malaysia ( PAS) Bintulu deputy chairman Zharudin Narudin.

“There are families that need extra help especially those with many children. But there are some who have difficulties in getting the assistance because of too many application procedures and time constraints.

“The aid distribution system should be simplified. Thus I call on the agencies and parties concerned to go to the ground and meet the people to fi nd out their actual needs,” said Zharudin.

He said this after presenting schooling assistance to several needy families at Kampung Masjid in Kampung Dato and Kampung Sebezau.

PAS Bintulu would continue its effort in distributing schooling aid to the needy, he added.

This time around, it decided to distribute cash aid so that parents and their children could choose to buy necessities according to their needs.

He said cash aid was more practical than material things like clothing because the recipient might already have the items and would prefer to use the cash for other important things.

PAS Bintulu hoped that this kind of programme would be able to open the people’s eyes to come forward and contribute to the less-fortunate families.
