Azlan Man: IBC will be nucleus of Lembah Chuping development

-

KANGAR: The International Business Centre ( IBC) which will be the centre of all developments in the Lembah Chuping Green Technology Park will be built before March this year, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man.

He said the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority ( NCIA) as the driver of the Lembah Chuping project would build the IBC at the highest peak in the valley spanning eight hectares and was expected to be ready at end-2018.

“The related infrastructure will be built simulataneously with the IBC project before the investors develop their factories,” said Azlan to reporters after the state level monthly gathering of civil servants yesterday.

The Menteri Besar said the Lembah Chuping project which had received the approval from the Federal Government was among the state government’s priorities this year.

Earlier in his speech, he said the state government was still examining the private sector’s proposal to build a jetty which had the potential to be turned into a port at Kuala Sanglang, Perlis, which borders Kuala Sanglang in Kedah.

He said if the proposal was found to be suitable, including contributing to the development and create jobs for the residents, it would be presented to the Federal Government for approval.

Meanwhile, Azlan said the Kuala Perlis development project by a government-linked company, comprising hotel, shophouses and apartments worth RM250 million, was expected to start this year.

“In this context, we must focus on synergistic projects. I want every agency and department to cooperate to assist the state government drive the planned developments.

“In conjunction with the new year I hope every civil servant especially the heads of department to work harder and not do work lackadaisically,” he added. — Bernama
