Reflections on Adenan’s demise

-

“The late CM was a down- to- earth leader. Although Adenan was a man of few words, the man was a decision person. I enjoyed listening to him because he was humorous and funny. He had a lot of self-mockery and that could only come from a man of wisdom. He told me many times that he spoke from his heart so he did not need any text of speech. And his standard of English was impressive. He expressed himself well. I truly admire and respect him. His demise is a great loss to Malaysia and Sarawak. We will miss him.”

– His Excellency Liu Quan, former Consul- General of China in Kuching and currently China Ambassador in Vanuatu “I would like to express my deepest sympathy on behalf of the Indonesian people working in Sarawak. The late Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem was really friendly and humble in improving bilateral relations and cooperation between Sarawak and Indonesia in various sectors. We all have lost a figure at all levels of society including Indonesians” – Bapak Jahar Gultom, Indonesian Consul-General in Kuching
