KUALA LUMPUR: The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2017 ( LIMA’17) is expected to receive more than 40,000 trade visitors from the defence and commercial sectors from all around the world. “All participants at LIMA stand to gain from the comprehensive civil, commercial and defence delegates programme implemented at the show. It is an excellent opportunity for LIMA to place itself as one of the major maritime and aerospace events in the world events calendar as Asean and Asia in general is currently the high growth area for worldwide aerospace and maritime sectors,” he said in his speech at the LIMA official sponsors recognition ceremony, here yesterday.

His text of speech was read out by Defence Ministry secretarygeneral Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Mohamad Radzi.

Hishammuddin said the introduction of the commercial sector for air and sea offered positive corporate and brand recognition to an even wider audience.

“Hosting LIMA will not be possible without shared common goals and we have been fortunate to have such a strong group of sponsors who share our ambitions and have been fully committeed to making the event a success.

“I would like to say thank you to each and every sponsor for the vital contribution they have made to the success of the LIMA series,” he said.

LIMA exhibition is scheduled from March 21 to 25 and expected to receive encouraging response despite the global economic uncertainty. The five- day aerospace exhibition will be held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre, while Resort World Langkawi would host the maritime exhibition. — Bernama
