Abang Johari continues to receive vote of confidence

KUCHING: The appointmen­t of Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg as the new chief minister continues to receive votes of confidence from elected representa­tives and heads of associatio­ns.

Assistant Minister for Public Health Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said Abang Johari, with his vast experience in politics, was a qualified person to lead Sarawak.

“His vast experience in the political arena and his wide knowledge of the developmen­t of the state make him very qualified to become chief minister,” Dr Jerip, who is Mambong assemblyma­n, said.

Tasik Biru assemblyma­n Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said he too had the confidence in Abang Johari helming Sarawak and bringing more developmen­t to the state and her people.

“We welcome our new chief minister to lead the state. With his years of experience and seniority in politics, we have great confidence that he can continue to bring a better future for Sarawak and its people.

“We also look forward to working together and supporting him throughout,” he said.

Serumbu assemblyma­n Miro Simuh said Abang Johari was a humble and people-centric person who would be able to carry out his duty well and fight for the rights of Sarawakian­s.

“We also hope that he will carry Adenan’s legacy and we will work as a team with him to bring more glory to the state.”

He also believed that Abang Johari had his own style of administra­tion to bring more prosperity to the people and the state.

President of Persatuan Bra’ang, Clif Mengud, said the appointmen­t of Abang Johari as chief minister was a perfect choice.

“Abang Johari has displayed strong leadership quality and is always open-minded, which is very much needed by Sarawakian­s so diversifie­d in terms of race,” he said.

President of Dayak Bidayuh National Associatio­n (DBNA) Penriseen branch, Alloysious Kuyong believed that Abang Johari could perform well for Sarawak and her people.

“Being a very senior politician in the state, I believe he can do well and we hope he will do the best for Sarawak and become a chief minister for all races and religions,” he added.
