Submissions open for Miri May Fest events calendar
MIRI: The Miri City Council ( MCC) welcomes organisations, associations and clubs to submit proposals of their activities for inclusion in Miri May Fest 2017’s Calendar of Events.
Its mayor Adam Yii said it had been a tradition for the MCC to invite various bodies to submit the proposals of their events for the Miri May Fest.

“A series of activities for the Miri May Fest 2017 is aimed at further promoting Miri as The Most Liveable Resort City.
“The activities which are to be included in the calendar of events for Miri May Fest 2017 is also to celebrate the 12th anniversary of Miri city,” he told the media after chairing a full council meeting yesterday.
Yii added that proposed events submitted must meet at least one of the ten criteria set by MCC.
The criteria are: open to public participation; cultural and arts; sport; youth; musical, dancing and singing; charity food fair; trade fair; events that are open for international entry; events which have proven to be well-liked by people in the past; and crowd-puller events.
Those who are interested may obtain an application form from the council.
The completed forms, Yii said, must be returned to the council on or before March 24 for approval.
The completed forms may also be sent via email to the council at jeni_ ribad0302@ yahoo.com.my or faxed to 085- 435602 for the attention of Jenifer Leku from MCC’s public relations section.
The council reserves the right to accept only events deemed appropriate to be included in the calendar of events.
