Celebrating a prosperous new year with SugarBun’s Fortune Fish Meal

-

KUCHING: SugarBun is celebrating the Lunar New Year with the introduction of the Fortune Fish Meals.

According to SugarBun’s marketing manager Sophia Ong, the Fortune Fish Meal consists of SugarBun’s all-time favourite fish fillet drizzled with a sweet and tangy sauce served with either rice and pickles or fries and coleslaw (fish and chips).

“Our research and development department have come up with this interesting sauce recipe which our customers should try with the special fish fillet. Tasting sweet and tangy, it goes very well with the rice and fish fillet,” she said during a press conference held at the SugarBun outlet located at iCom Square here yesterday.

Ong explained that SugarBun’s fish fillet for the Fortune Fish Meal is made from blue grenadier (also known as hoki or New Zealand whiptail) fish meat.

Blue grenadier was also chosen because the fish’s meat is off-white and is more flavourful than most other whitefish when cooked due to its higher fat content.

Ong however revealed that the Fortune Fish Meal is only available for a limited time only; valid while stocks last.

It is available in all SugarBun outlets except for outlets located in airports.

The Fortune Fish Meal is sold at RM10.80 and customers can complete the meal with ThreeLayer Tea with an additional RM1.80.

Apart from that, customers can also redeem SugarBun’s limited edition Golden Rooster Ang Pow packets with a single receipt purchase amounting to RM22.00 and above, and one of the purchase must be the Fortune Fish Meal.

Established since 1979, SugarBun prides itself in offering the best of Borneo’s flavours. The brand has introduced Sarawak Laksa, Giant Grouper Fish from the coasts of Lahad Datu as well as the outlet’s signature products such as Broasted Chicken and Fish Burger to Kuala Lumpur.

Those living in Peninsular Malaysia can have a taste of Borneo by visiting the two SugarBun outlets located in Menara Hap Seng in Kuala Lumpur and Ara Damansara in Petaling Jaya.

The two Peninsular Malaysia outlets launched another SugarBun favourite menu item this month which is the Chicken Sandwich.
