Calling runners for Sibu Tower Run
SIBU: The inaugural Sibu Tower Run slated for March 11 is now open for entries with the entry forms obtainable at www. travelsibu.com.
Organiser Danny Hii of DNA Sports said the run is limited to 300 participants only with registration fee of RM100 per person, and every successful registration will be acknowledged via SMS and email.
“Go to the travel Sibu website and click on Sibu Tower Run and fill in the details there. Those who are not familiar with online registration may visit our roadshow at a later date to register manually,” he told reporters at Sibu Municipal Council ( SMC) premises yesterday.

back to the same venue to continue with a staircase walk of 627 steps up to Level 28 of Wisma Sanyan.
“The finishing point is at Level 28 and this is why we set a limit to the number of participants to avoid congestion,” he pointed out.
There are four categories – Men’s, Women’s, Veteran Men’s and Veteran Women’s.
The top 10 finishers of each category will receive prizes.
The champion will receive RM1,000 while the second and third place winners will get RM500 and RM300 respectively.
The fourth and fifth place winners will receive RM100 each while those placed from sixth to tenth will get RM50 each.
Winners are also given a medal, T- shirt and certificate each.
Meanwhile, SMC councillor Wong Hie Ping said the run is the first of its kind in Sarawak, and is organised as an event for Visit Sibu Year 2017.
