Developers told to build more affordable homes

-

Local developers in the state should build more affordable houses in order to ensure young people are able to own their first house.

Assistant Minister for Land and Air Transportation and Safety Datuk Lee Kim Shin said with the current hike in house prices in the market, many young people today are unable to afford to own their first house.

“I hope Naim can also play a role here and build more affordable houses below RM300,000 to cater to the needs of people here,” he stated when launching Naim Land Sdn Bhd’s single- storey terrace housing project ‘ Terrasse’ in conjunction with Naim’s Chinese New Year ( CNY) Open House at Naim Clubhouse yesterday.

In view of the modern lifestyle, Lee who is also Senadin assemblyman gave his thumbsup to Naim for including modern elements in their housing projects.

He encouraged the developer to incorporate more elements of creativity and innovative ideas in their housing designs to attract buyers.

In addition to providing quality houses for buyers, he said the developer should also provide green elements in their housing projects with recreational facilities to generate healthy lifestyles within the housing community.

At the same time, he said such commitment would complement existing efforts by the local authority to make Miri a beautiful, green and clean resort city.

Additionally, he said the state government would continue with its commitment to upgrade existing infrastructure in the city, including building more recreational facilities.

Chief executive officer ( CEO) of Naim Holdings Berhad Datuk Mohd Nizam Abdul Malik said Naim’s latest single-storey terrace house project which features a contemporary and attractive open design concept is located at the Willow Moss Precinct of Naim SouthLake Permyjaya, Naim’s flagship lakeside development.

Mohd Nizam added the SouthLake area is situated within the Naim Bandar Baru Permyjaya mixed township.

He also said the single- storey terrace houses are built within a secure guarded community, offering a beautifully merged lifestyle of both outdoor and indoor living.

Each Terrasse unit consists of three bedrooms and two bathrooms with an open- plan design to provide comfortable living spaces for customers and their families.

“As the Naim Terrasse houses are located within the Naim SouthLake Permyjaya zone, residents can enjoy various benefits such as a clean environment made possible by underground gas piping and cabling, a lush green environment, the availability of a range of recreational facilities at the Naim Clubhouse and its strategic location near modern conveniences such as Permy Mall, an international school and Curtin Sarawak.

“In addition to that, it is also about 20 minutes’ drive away from Miri city and the airport.”

He invited those interested to find more about Terrasse and to take advantage of the special early bird promotion which is valid for a limited time only.

Also present at the event were Lee’s wife Datin Kong Shui Lin, Naim’s senior general manager of sales and marketing Alice Ting and Naim’s assistant general manager of property ( Miri) Abang Mahathir Mohamed.
