Annuar Musa suspended as Mara chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) yesterday announced the immediate suspension of Tan Sri Annuar Musa as chairman of the agency and Pelaburan Mara Bhd ( PMB).

Mara council member Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob said the unanimous decision of the council was made at a special meeting he had chaired at the Mara headquarters here.

Yusof said at a media conference af ter the meeting that the suspension was to enable the Mara internal auditors to look into several matters of the agency, including PMB and Universiti Kuala Lumpur ( UniKL) sponsorship of the Kelantan football team, The Red Warriors.

KUALA LUMPUR: The position of Tan Sri Annuar Musa as Umno information chief is up to the party president following his suspension as Mara chairman.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said Annuar was appointed to the post by president, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“His post in Umno was appointed by the president and his suspension is in a government agency.

“It does not involve his post in Umno, it is up to the president,” he said when contacted by Bernama here yesterday.

Mara tyesterday suspended the duties of the Ketereh MP as agency chairman and Pelaburan Mara Bhd ( PMB) chairman effective immediately. — Bernama
