National Library targets 3.3 mln digital book usage this year

PASIR MAS: The National Library ( PNM) is targeting the usage of its digital book services to increase to 3.3 million this year compared with 3.1 million last year.

Its director- general, Datuk Nafisah Ahmad said this followed the large- scale promotion carried out by the agency for the past three years nationwide to inform the public on the facilities provided by the PNM.

“There are more than seven million informatio­n sources online which covered reading materials for all groups of readers comprising children, youths, adults and the profession­als.

Nafisah said any member of the public interested to read online digital books could register as PNM members without any fee charged at www.pnmdigital.com. my.

More than 1,000 books worth more than RM3,000 were also handed over to SK Kedai Tanjong at the programme contribute­d by Bernama, PNM, Kuala Lumpur Library, Resource Centre of the Communicat­ions and Multimedia Ministry, National Book Council, Kota Buku and Yayasan Bank Rakyat. — Bernama
