Hope Place receives RM1,000 from Tun Jugah Management Corporation

-

KUCHING: Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan yesterday received a donation of RM1,000 from Tun Jugah Management Corporation in conjunction with the Chinese New Year at the Tun Jugah Plaza.

Representing the corporation was their marketing manager Hong Miao Hung who handed the mock cheque to Wan.

According to Wan, the donation will be channelled to Hope Place which is a non- governmental organisation that visits the poor and less fortunate families to contribute some essential foodstuffs like rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, biscuits and noodles.

Most of these families or individuals barely earn enough to get through the month; hence many are grateful with the assistance of these basic necessities delivered to them.

For the families with children with special needs or with elderly or disabled people, they provide milk powder, oat and diapers as well.

Hope Place carries out its aid deliveries once every two months because of the many families on its recipients list.

Currently, it is supporting more than 160 families. For more information on how to help, Hope Place can be reached at 013- 567 2775 and 082- 68 3378 from 8.30am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm Mondays to Fridays. On Saturdays, it can be reached from 8.30am to 12 noon.

Those making a donation should request for a receipt from the staff at Hope Place. Direct bank-ins can be made to its Maybank account number 51128900-1160.
