TAIPING: The Perak government, through the State Sport Council ( MSN), handed over an insurance compensation of RM40,710 to Chong Choi Kim, the mother of state gymnastics athlete, the late Lim Wei Yao at her house in Taman Long Jaafar here yesterday.

State Health, Public Transportation, Non- Muslim Affairs, National Integration and New Villages Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon said the compensation was a mark of the state government’s sympathy towards Lim Wei Yao who died while training.

“The insurance compensation can help ease the burden of the victim’s family who had lost a son,” he told reporters after a ceremony to hand over the contribution.
