Public appeal for donations to fund student’s surgery

-

KUCHING: Technology College Sarawak ( TCS) is appealing for more corporate bodies and individuals to contribute funds to pay for the cost of treatment and surgery for Berinthia Bartholomew.

Berinthia, 21, is a TCS student who was recently involved in a vehicular mishap that now requires immediate surgery for a fractured spine, as well as torn ligaments.

“The medical expenses are estimated to cost around RM15,000.

“Therefore, we seek the public’s kind assistance in contributing funds in order to lessen the family’s financial burden,” said TCS chief operating officer Amin Aznizan when contacted yesterday.

Born to policeman Bartholomew Inggol and housewife Felicity Kieng, Berinthia who hails from Miri and is the youngest of five siblings is currently in her fourth semester of her Diploma in Management Technology studies at TCS.

“In a year’s time, she will be undergoing industrial training.

“According to her lecturers, Berinthia is a very helpful and lively girl both in and out of class. She is also very active in sports, especially in volleyball.

“Hence, every sen from the public will help get her back on her feet,” Amin added.

Berinthia’s surgery is expected to take place at Sarawak General Hospital ( SGH) tomorrow ( Feb 9).

Those who want to help can channel their donations into the Maybank accounts belonging to her father Bartholomew Inggol (A/C No: 161118909424) or Berinthia Bartholomew (A/C No: 111186169213).
