Special needs children treated to CNY meal

MIRI: Children with special needs at the Sunf lower Centre here were treated to a nice meal and angpows by Mega Hotel yesterday.

The hotel’s management team headed by its operations manager Javaerlyne John Jutie paid a Chinese New Year visit to the centre.

Officer-in- charge of the centre, Liza Chai welcomed the team that included the hotel’s communicat­ions manager Jenny Chen and senior sales manager Ben Aranee.

back to the community,” said Chen.

Every year, the hotel visits charitable organisati­ons and carry out charity events as part of its contributi­on to the local society.

“Apart from giving back to the local community, we are also taking this opportunit­y to bring festive cheer to the children.

“This is our way of bringing them happiness during the festive season and to let them know that there are people out there who care about them,” she said.

After serving sumptuous meals to about 80 special children at the centre, Javaerlyne led her team to distribute angpows to all the children present.

Later in the afternoon, the team paid a visit to the Home for the Aged at Krokop here.

At the centre, the team feted more than 20 senior folks to a warm meal, angpows and goodies comprising daily essentials like Milo drinks and biscuits from the hotel.
