Colour Rush Run 5.0 race pack ready for collection
MIRI: The race pack for the muchanticipated Colour Rush Run 5.0 is now ready for collection.
Participants can get them on Feb 18 at Imperial Mall (ground floor) from 11am to 7pm.
The Colour Rush is an annual childhood awareness campaign organised by Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society ( SCCS) to commemorate International Childhood Cancer which falls in February every year.
SCCS president Jocelyn Hee told a press conference yesterday that participants are to take note of the race pack collection time and venue to prevent any confusion.
The race pack comprises two packets of coloured powder for each participant to splash on each other prior to the run, said Hee.
The Miri leg Colour Rush Run 5.0 will happen on February 19 (Sunday) at Boulevard Shopping Mall parking lot from 6.30am onwards.
The run this year will see 3,600 participants in Miri and over 3,000 participants in Kuching which will be held on Feb 18.
During the press conference, Hee expressed her appreciation to all agencies involved to make the event a success; namely Village (official sound equipment), Revive (official isotonic drink), The Shots Photography (official photographer) , Permaisuri Imperial City Mal l ( Miri), Boulevard Shopping Mall ( Miri), MRC Miri Chapter ( of f icial medical assistance) and official media partners – MY FM, ERA. fm and hitz.fm.
“SCCS would also like to extend a special appreciation to OurYouth. my for their tremendous support and guidance over the years with each Colour Rush event since the start, thereby making the run such a success. The continuous support from OurYouth.my has initiated the independence of SCCS in being able to run the event, with OurYouth. my as an invaluable event advisor.
“Not forget ting, the team of volunteers who have been working tirelessly to sort out the t- shirts, packing the coloured powder and those make rounds at the running route to ensure the safety of participants. Their contributions are beyond words could describe and it would not happen so smoothly without them,” she said.
