South Korea’s M-Line clinches deals for ‘Missing,’ ‘Derailed’ in Europe
SEOUL: South Korea’s M-Line Distribution has clinched deals to distribute the movies Missing and Derailed in Europe.
The deals were made during the European Film Market in Berlin.
Missing, the critically acclaimed mystery thriller directed by E.eoni, has sold to Klockworx for Japan and MATV for other Asian regions including Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
GEE and Emphasis picked up the in-flight rights to the film.
Starring actresses Uhm Jiwon ( The Silenced) and Gong Hyo-jin ( Warner Bros. Korea’s upcoming A Single Rider), Missing is about a mother who frantically searches for her missing child after she disappears with her nanny.
Part-Time Spy, due in South Korean cinemas next month, has been pre- sold to Longshong for Taiwan.
It is set to receive day- anddate releases in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei via Encore and Vietnam via Kim Quy Media.
The action- comedy directed by Kim Deok- soo is about a desperate job seeker becoming an undercover spy in order to become a full-time employee of a national security agency.
Derailed, aka No Way to Go, was picked up by China’s Lemontree, Hong Kong’s Deltamac, Taiwan’s AV-jet and Japan’s MAXAM.
The film has been noted by Kpop fans across Asia for starring SHINEE member Choi Min-ho.
Choi stars opposite Train to Busan star Don Lee as a runaway teenager who becomes entangled in a criminal world and struggles to save a friend from underage prostitution.
