Bringing resources to develop entrepreneurs

-

Besides the potential benefit of community collaboration, entrepreneurs seeking to occupy space at Borneo 744 may also be able to rely on the expertise and advise of the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre ( MaGIC) who has been confirmed as an anchor tenant and will setting up its maiden Kuching office at Borneo 744’s Block B.

The federal agency under the Ministry of Finance has vision to make Malaysia the start-up capital of Asia and aims to achieve this by bringing together the abundant resources form its partners and communities alike to help develop entrepreneurs.

In addition to this, the agency also offers educational materials for entrepreneurs to better manage their start-ups which would be highly beneficial to tenants within the Borneo 744.

As an incentive to kickstart the project, the management at Borneo 744 will offer six months of free rent to any potential licensees who are interested and able to start operations by April 15.

Looking towards the remaining block, Block A is a 4,500 square feet auditorium that possesses a standing capacity of 400 people, making it an ideal location to house performing arts, exhibitions and events.

“So far, we’ve received interest to hold a dance performance event that is tentatively set to be held late this year,” Jutem shared.

On the issue of distance, Jutem suggested that they may look into collaborating with transportation services such as Uber and Grabcar to make the area more accessible for visitors when events are being held.

With only finishing touches left to most of the facilities of Borneo 744, the handover date to operator is set to be on March 1 with and estimated operation launch on April 1 as the tenants set up their businesses.
