Mo­ti­va­tional talk at Is­lamic In­for­ma­tion Cen­tre

KUCHING: An en­trepreneur­ship mo­ti­va­tion talk will be held to­mor­row ( Feb 18) at Is­lamic In­for­ma­tion Cen­tre at 2pm.

The talk is jointly or­gan­ised by the Associated Chi­nese Cham­bers of Com­merce and In­dus­try of Sarawak (ACCCIS), Kuching Chi­nese Gen­eral Chamber of Com­merce and In­dus­try ( KCGCCI) and Fed­er­a­tion of Sarawak Hawk­ers’ As­so­ci­a­tions (FSHA).

The speaker is Tan Sri Datuk Tiong Su Kouk, pres­i­dent of the S.K. Tiong Group of Com­pa­nies, chair­man of CCK Con­sol­i­dated Hold­ings Ber­had and ex­ec­u­tive chair­man of Nam Cheong Lim­ited. Tiong is an in­ge­nious en­tre­pre­neur. He is am­bi­tious and pos­sesses an in­ter­na­tional out­look in his busi­ness vi­sions.

Sixty years ago, with a mere $ 3.40, he started as a fish­mon­ger.

He was mo­ti­vated by the Chi­nese say­ing ‘to rise to higher level’ which has served as his guide to aim for higher goals and achieve mile­stone af­ter mile­stone in his busi­ness ven­tures, in­spir­ing him in his busi­ness am­bi­tions in cre­at­ing a busi­ness em­pire of good re­pute both lo­cally and in­ter­na­tion­ally.

His busi­ness in­ter­ests rang­ing from fish and prawn cold stor­age, aquatic prod­ucts pro­cess­ing, tiger prawn and or­ganic tiger prawn farm­ing, aqua­cul­ture, poul­try, ship­build­ing, ship leas­ing, prop­erty de­vel­op­ment, dressed chicken and food and bev­er­age dis­tri­bu­tion are all do­ing well and ex­pand­ing.
