Motivation­al talk at Islamic Informatio­n Centre

KUCHING: An entreprene­urship motivation talk will be held tomorrow ( Feb 18) at Islamic Informatio­n Centre at 2pm.

The talk is jointly organised by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS), Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( KCGCCI) and Federation of Sarawak Hawkers’ Associatio­ns (FSHA).

The speaker is Tan Sri Datuk Tiong Su Kouk, president of the S.K. Tiong Group of Companies, chairman of CCK Consolidat­ed Holdings Berhad and executive chairman of Nam Cheong Limited. Tiong is an ingenious entreprene­ur. He is ambitious and possesses an internatio­nal outlook in his business visions.

Sixty years ago, with a mere $ 3.40, he started as a fishmonger.

He was motivated by the Chinese saying ‘to rise to higher level’ which has served as his guide to aim for higher goals and achieve milestone after milestone in his business ventures, inspiring him in his business ambitions in creating a business empire of good repute both locally and internatio­nally.

His business interests ranging from fish and prawn cold storage, aquatic products processing, tiger prawn and organic tiger prawn farming, aquacultur­e, poultry, shipbuildi­ng, ship leasing, property developmen­t, dressed chicken and food and beverage distributi­on are all doing well and expanding.
