Hope Place donates over 200 rice packs to Hospital Sentosa

-

KUCHING: Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan handed over 200 packs of rice to Tabung Kebajikan Perubatan Malaysia Hospital Sentosa here yesterday.

The donation was received by Kota Sentosa medical social officer Fatimah Sharaie.

Wan said the donation was for mental patients under the care of the hospital.

On a related matter, he said Hope Place was short of children’s diapers size L and XXL and Ensure milk.

“The special milk is for the disabled elderly,” he said.

Hope Place is an NGO that visits poor and less fortunate families to contribute essential food items like rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, biscuits and noodles.

Many of these families or individuals barely earn enough to get through the month, and are grateful with the assistance of these basic necessities delivered to them. For families with children with special needs or with elderly or disabled people, the NGO provides milk powder, oat and diapers as well.

It carries out its aid deliveries once every two months because of the many families on its recipients list. Currently it is supporting more than 160 families.

For more information on how to help them to help the needy, call Hope Place at 013-567 2775 (hotline) or the office at 082- 68 3378 from 8.30am to 12 noon and 2pm to 5pm during weekdays and 9am to 12 noon on Saturdays.

Those making a donation should request for a receipt from the staff at Hope Place. Cash donations can be directly banked-in to Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching at Maybank account 5112- 89001160.
