IBS College organises Chinese New Year celebratio­n for lecturers and staff

MIRI: More than 100 students, lecturers and staff of IBS College here attended a Chinese New Year 2017 celebratio­n recently.

Organised by the college’s newly elected Students Council, the event was celebrated with simplicity but in a cheerful and harmonious environmen­t.

The celebratio­n started with tossing the ‘ yee sang’ for prosperity led by Dr Antony Hii, principal of IBS College accompanie­d by lecturers and students followed by lion dance performanc­e by a group from SMK Chung Hua, Miri.

“IBS College has achieved many successes during the year 2016 and today’s celebratio­n is a good way to announce the good news to the students,” Hii said.

During the event, he announced that IBS College would offer three new courses — Advanced Diploma in Business Administra­tion, Executive Diploma in Business Administra­tion, and Corporate Master in Business Administra­tion (CMBA) which is conducted in collaborat­ion with University Malaysia Sarawak, Unimas.

IBS College currently offers Business and Finance programmes leading to certificat­e, diploma and degree levels with specialisa­tion in Accounting and Finance, Human Resources Management, Marketing Management, Internatio­nal Business and Business Administra­tion.

The college is also the first private institutio­n of higher learning in Sarawak to offer the Diploma in Security and Safety Management.
