Concert pianist Jolynn to perform with jazz quartet

-

KUCHING: Local-born international concert pianist Jolynn Chin will be performing with her jazz quartet on the courtyard of Chinahouse at The Old Courthouse tonight.

She will be showcasing the best of her contemporary and jazz compositions, some of which comprise classical influences, at the ‘Jazzin’ it Up with Jolynn 2.0: Under the Stars’, scheduled to commence at 8pm.

Chin is a ‘Gold Prize’ winner of Asia International Piano Academy Festival (AIPAF) in Seoul, South Korea last year.

She was a music producer and soundtrack composer for the short film ‘Goodbye’ by The Scope Kuching, and also for the thriller film ‘ Echoes of Mind’ by Upper Cut Productions Singapore, in collaboration with many international musicians.

Chin composed two original pieces with influences from classical, contemporary and jazz genres entitled ‘ The Beginning’ and ‘Ready Now’ – to be released this year.

Admission to ‘ Jazzin’ it Up with Jolynn 2.0: Under the Stars’ is free, as it is a free seating-free standing event.

Visitors are encouraged to bring mats to sit on as no chair or table will be placed on the courtyard. They should also be prepared for the changes in weather.

“Bring along ponchos or raincoats, in case of rain as the event is held on an open area.

“Food and drinks may be bought from the restaurants and cafes within Chinahouse. No outside food and drinks are allowed during the event,” says a spokesperson of the organiser.
