MPC to hold targeted programmes to boost efficiency, productivity and enhance human capital
KUCHING: MalaysiaProductivity Corporation (MPC) will organise a number of programmes in 2017 to boost organisational efficiency and productivity, and to enhance its human capital.
MPC state director Tengku Azmi Tengku Majid said that the programmes are divided into three parts: senior and top management, middle management and executive level.
The aims of the programmes are to benefit their target groups as before this, MPC did not have such programmes, he said at a press conference after he spoke at the briefings for participants of the Outreach Team Excellence Criteria 2017 programme held at MPC Sarawak Regional Office, Demak Laut Industrial Park here yesterday.
“This year, we introduced a new programme catering for senior and top management, and middle management,” he added.
Tengku Azmi said the programmes organised by MPC include a Business Excellence Workshop for Senior Management on Nov 13–16.
The programme will be based on case studies and will be administered by two facilitators: Tan Sri Annuar Ali and Professor Dr Ramli Baharom.
“My hope is that we can attract more participants from the public and private sectors,” he said.
“We have prepared a platform based on real case studies where people can interact with one another and the session will have less lecturing so there will be more discussions,” he added.
Tengku Azmi also revealed that MPC will host a programme and talk on a chief executive officer’s (CEO) experiences in an organisation on March 14.
“We invited a representative from Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd to share how the CEO guided the company to greater heights,” he said.
He also revealed there will be a Lean Management Seminar on March 8 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
“The one- day programme will include the best practices that can contribute to the greater success of an organisation,” he said.
He further revealed that there will be four panels representing various segments or industries who will share their experiences on Lean Management from Samling, Kuching North City Hall (DBKU), Sarawak General Hospital and International Islamic University.
Tengku Azmi said organisations in Sarawak should not take this seminar lightly as there are many methods to boost their productivity and efficiency. He explained that lean management is about continuous improvement and a long term approach to work that seeks to achieve small incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality.
He added that the seminar will be officiated by Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan who is also Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneurial Development, Trade and Investment.
Present at the press conference were MPC manager Waila Mohd Nasir and MPC senior consultant Jerry Shahnizal Abdul Aziz.
