Motorsports stars in Miri for ‘Extra Hardcore Roadshow’

-

MIRI: Malaysia’s top female motorsport athlete Leona Chin and Malaysia 2WD Rally champion Kenneth Koh will be here for the Mitsubishi Triton Extra Hardcore Roadshow tomorrow and Sunday ( Feb 25-26).

Participants can experience adrenaline-pumping rides in the powerful new Triton double cab, powered by Mivec turbo diesel engine at Miri Boulevard Shopping Mall. Chin will demonstrate the thrills of drifting and there is also a specially outfitted obstacle truck to climb a 45- degree, 25- foot tall Sky Ramp, as well as a roller ramp test.

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia CEO Tomoyuki Shinnishi said Mitsubishi Triton has proven its capabilities, endurance and strength by completing the 26th Borneo Safari Off-Road Challenge in Sabah last year, and the new model is even better.

“All the participants and vehicles from team Mitsubishi Triton made it 400km through the rough jungle terrain to the finish line without any change of vehicle parts throughout the entire journey,” he said during a media introduction yesterday.

Chin, who was in the team, said this was an enviable feat proving the durability and reliability of the vehicle and the quality of the team involved.

To qualify, participants must go for the high- speed taxi ride or Red Peak test ride, as well as snap and print the most creative photo. Children can also enjoy sand art and other fun activities at this family event.
