SIBU: Good teamwork among school board of management, the old students association, parent-teacher association ( PTA), principal and teachers has been the hallmark of Sacred Heart Secondary School in achieving excellent results in both academic and extra- curricular activities.

In fact, the school has raised the bar when it comes to teamwork among the stakeholders, having achieved a historical feat in the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia ( STPM) 2016 results, which were released yesterday.

Sacred Heart Old Students Association (Shosa) president Hii Chang Kee, who is Sibu Resident, extended Shosa’s heartiest congratulations to their alma mat er for the outstanding achievement in last year’s STPM.

Hii, a former head prefect, attributed the achievement to excellent teamwork of the school board of management, old students’ asssociation, PTA, principal and teachers.

He said this had paid off handsomely in nurturing and developing students.

“We are overwhelmed by the remarkable success attained by the school in recent years in both academic and extra- curricular activities.

“Syabas to David Teo, the principal, who has worked very hard to lead the school and make this remarkable achievement a reality,” Hii said.

Meanwhile, another former student, Rural District Council ( SRDC) chairman Councillor Sempurai Petrus Ngelai said the school had maintained its high quality of education and teaching.

As a former student, I am definitely proud of the school’s achievement in the STPM. My congratulations to the teachers, principal and students for their excellent achievement in STPM,” said Sempurai, who is a lawyer by profession.

When contacted after receiving the award from Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid in Putrajaya yesterday, Teo said the school was the pride of Sibu and Sarawak.

This is historical and memorable for the school,” he said.

SMK Sacred Heart tops the STPM 2016 results in the country, having achieved a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.36, followed by Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah, Klang with CGPA of 3.35 and SMJK Sin Min, Sg Petani with CGPA of 3.30.
