Naim wins environmental award for 4th consecutive edition
KUCHING: It was a night to remember as Naim Holdings Bhd was adjudged the winner of the 7th Sarawak Chief Minister’s Environmental Award (CMEA) 2015/2016 in the Large Enterprise (Construction) category, marking its fourth consecutive win of the coveted award.
Representing Naim to receive the award was its board member Datu Dr Abdul Rashid Mohd Azis, who was accompanied by Naim’s chief executive officer for construction and oil and gas Datuk Mohd Nizam Abdul Malik. Among those in attendance at the award presentation dinner was Naim’s chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi.
Mohd Nizam said the award was a testament of the group’s determination not only to fulfil its corporate social responsibilities (CSR), but extend it far beyond statutory obligations and compliance with legislation.
“We believe that building a strong business and creating a better world via efforts such as environmental stewardship, are essential ingredients for longterm success. In our quest to build homes that families dream of, develop vibrant communities and construct national assets of quality and value, we remain committed to our triple bottom line—people, planet and profit,” Mohd Nizam remarked.
No stranger to CSR stewardship, Naim also made Sarawak proud by being adjudged the winner of the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (AREA) South East Asia (SEA) in 2014.
Jointly organised by the Natural Resources and Environment Board ( NREB) and Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( SCCI) in association with other government agencies, the CMEA is fully supported by the state government which gives due recognition to companies and industries that have shown outstanding environmental stewardship and advocate sustainable green initiatives in daily operations.
