Elton John says sons come before partner Furnish

-

ELTON John says his children come before his partner David Furnish.

The ‘ Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker has six-year- old Zachary and four-year- old Elijah — who were both born via surrogate — with the 54- year- old Canadian fi l mmaker and admits a decade ago he didn’t think it would be possible to become father and have two “wonderful” children and such a “remarkable” life. Asked how his sons have changed his life at his Academy Awards viewing party - which is put on each year in aid of the Elton John AIDS Foundation —he said: “In the most unimaginable way — there’s nothing I love more than my sons , and then David comes second.

“They have changed my life in the most remarkable way which I never thought was possible.

“If somebody had told me 10 years I could have such a wonderful life with two beautiful sons I’d have said they were bonkers, but it just shows you never know what can happen.

“I never thought I would be a father but I love it, I just love it, they’ve taught me so much — they’re just fantastic.”

Despite loving fatherhood, the ‘Rocket Man’ singer has said he has no plans to add to his brood.

He added: “But we’re done - no more!”

Last December, rumours were swirling that Elton was to retire in 2018 to spend more time with his family, however, he rubbished the rumours. At the time, he also said that despite his many years of stardom, his children remain grounded as they acknowledge his fame but ignore it.

He said: “We are a very privileged couple, we live an incredibly privileged life and so it’s hard to keep their feet on the ground, but so far so good.

“They know what daddy does they know he’s a singer but they are not that interested, they are more interested with their torches and their Lego.” — BANG Showbiz
