-

KUCHING: The National Transformation 2050 ( TN50) dialogue will take place at the Arena Gemilang Hall of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak ( Unimas) in Kota Samarahan this Saturday ( March 11).

Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate at the opening ceremony of the session, which is scheduled to commence at 10am.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is also expected to attend the dialogue.

Sarawak is the fifth leg of the TN50 tour series, aimed at engaging the diverse young generation in a townhall meeting.

The TN50 is a futuristic policy for charting the country’s roadmap for 30 years after 2020.

Based on the feedback from the series, the government will evaluate and draft a TN50 Policy Document that outlines the economic, social, cultural and environmental targets that Malaysia aims to achieve by 2050. The policy would be unveiled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak between late next year and early 2019, once it has been fi ne-tuned by experts.

The dialogue is part of the preparation stage and development of the TN50, of which the Youth and Sports Ministry has been entrusted with carrying out national discourses involving youths to determine their aspirations and directions.

The TN50 is adopting a bottomup approach so that the people will have a sense of belonging and participation in the country’s development. More information about TN50 can be obtained via www.mytn50.com.

Youths from Kuching and Samarahan divisions are encouraged to attend the dialogue.
