Associatio­n to hold gathering-cum-installati­on dinner

KAPIT: Kapit Foochow Associatio­n ( KFA) will organise a fellowship dinner- cum-installati­on banquet for committee members for the 2017–2018 term at 6.30pm on March 26 at the Kapit Civic Centre.

During a recent organising committee meeting, newly appointed Foochow community leader Kapitan Yiap Yii Hoo was appointed as organising chairman to ensure the programme runs smoothly.

“We are expecting six hundred Foochows and invited guests to attend the function. Among our distinguis­hed invited guests are Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Developmen­t Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, Hulu Rajang Member of Parliament Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong, Bukit Goram assemblyma­n Jefferson Jamit Unyat and Pelagus assemblyma­n Wilson Nyabong Ijang,” Yiap said.

“The highlight of the evening is the installati­on of the committee members for the main body, youth wing, women’s wing and veteran’s section. Also, the veteran’s section will present ‘ angpow’ to senior members who are 70years- old and above as a token of appreciati­on.”

Each table is priced at RM350 or RM 35 per ticket. Those wishing to buy tickets are advised to contact Yiap, Sii Bang Ee (KFA chairman) at Hong Hin General Trading, Bazaar Baru or Councillor David Wong ( KFA secretary)

The committee members of the main body for 2017– 2018 are Sii (chairman), Yiap (deputy chairman), Wong ( secretary), James Ling (assistant secretary) and Councillor Jenny Yii (treasurer).

The other office bearers and committee members are Ting King Yiing ( youth chief), Wong Siew Chen (women’s chief), Liew Song Swee (veteran’s chief), Dr Sia Tik Kong and Tiong Ping (children’s education), Sia Leh Ching and Ting Hua Kiong (social welfare), Ho Yang Tong and Ling Hang Ping (sports and recreation), Tang Lok Ting and Stanley Ling Bee Chong ( public relations)
