KUCHING: Residents and home owners of the Shefford View Neighbourhood located at Lorong Stampin Tengah 5E here want the developer of a condominium project nearby to use an alternative road into their project site.
They have protested to the use of Lorong Stampin Tengah 5E as a main access into the proposed condominium project.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau ( SUPP PCB) chief Wilfred Yap recently held a meeting with the affected residents numbering some 1,000 house owners in the neighbourhood.
During the meeting, Yap was told that the residents around Shefford View Neighbourhood objected to vehicles and machineries of the condominium developer using Lorong Stampin Tengah 5 to get into or out of the project site.
Yap said Lorong Stampin Tengah 5 (gazetted with maximum five tonnes tonnage road signs and having eight to nine bumps) was already experiencing heavy traffic by the over 1,000 residents.

Jalan Penrissen which has further aggravated the traffic congestion during peak hours.
“SUPP PCB had, on Nov 10, 2016, on behalf of the affected residents of Shefford View Neighbourhood written to Resource Planning and Environment Ministry and state Land and Survey Department to notify them on their protest on the said matter.
“However, SUPP PCB and the affected residents did not receive any response from the authorities,” said Yap.
He said the affected residents of Shefford View Neighbourhood had requested SUPP PCB to convey their predicament to Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg.
The affected residents hoped that the relevant authorities would ensure that the developer use Jalan Datuk Bandar Mustapha as the main access to their high density and commercial development, he said.
He noted that any further increase in traffic would further overload Lorong Stampin Tengah 5, causing the entire safety, social, well-being and peacefulness of the 1,000 plus residents to be badly disrupted.
According to Yap, SUPP PCB is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone facing problems or who come across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it.
Those requiring assistance can call SUPP PCB’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or visit SUPP headquarters.
