SilkAir teams up with local travel agents to offer attractive fares

KUCHING: as the network carrier of Singapore Airlines, SilkAir Private Ltd (SilkAir) has teamed up with local travel agents to offer attractive fares at the Sarawak Matta Fair held at Boulevard Shopping Mall Kuching this weekend.

Locals will be able to enjoy over 100 SilkAir and Singapore Airlines destinat ions via Singapore at promotiona­l fares if they book through selected local agents from now until March 23 for travel between March 12 to September 30 this year.

Fares will start as low as RM299 for dual all-in return tickets to Singapore from Kuching where passengers can enjoy inclusive amenities such as 30kg baggage check in allowance, in- f light entertainm­ent, and in- f light meals.

For travellers looking for a holiday further from home, allin return fares to East Asian destinat ions such as Hong Kong, Japan, China and South Korea will cost from RM848, RM1,448, RM1,468 and RM1,678, respective­ly.

Meanwhile, travellers looking for more exotic destinatio­ns such as Australia, Europe, South Africa and the United States can enjoy promotiona­l fare prices from RM2,118, RM2,498, RM3,448 and RM3,848, respective­ly.

Appointed travel agencies authorised to provide these attractive promotiona­l fares include Ming Ming Travel Services Sdn Bhd, Borneo Tours Sdn Bhd, Borneo Exploratio­n Tours and Travel Sdn Bhd, Orient Holidays Sdn Bhd, and Interconti­nental Travel Centre Sdn Bhd.

While all flights will require a transit at Singapore’s Changi Internatio­nal Airport, travellers can rest easy knowing SilkAir will be servicing their needs even after they’ve stepped off their aircrafts as holders of SilkAir boarding passes waiting for transit will be eligible for a SGD$ 20 voucher useable anywhere within Changi Internatio­nal Airport.

“SilkAir is the subsidiary of SIA, and has been operating its Kuching- Singapore route for almost 12 years now with our anniversar­y coming this month on the 28th. By joining the Matta fair, we hope to further boost our brand awareness in Sarawak by collaborat­ing with our agents,” said Chang Jin Jen, Manager of Sarawak’s SilkAir operations.

Chang went on further to urge the public to attend the Matta fair as there are free goody bags for redemption for all travellers who have purchased SilkAir tickets or tour packages with SilkAir flightsval­ued RM1,000 and above.

“There is also a special lucky draw during the fair to win a pair of tickets to Chendgu,” Chang added.

Additional­ly, attendants of the Sarawak Matta fair who have liked SilkAir’s facebook page, downloaded SilkAir’s applicatio­n or are Kris f lyer members will have a chance to participat­e in the Spin and Win mini game located at the SilkAir booth where spin is a win for a small prize.

This promotiona­l event is part of SilkAir’s 12 year anniversar­y in Sarawak and also its first appearance in Sarawak Matta Fair’s 10-year run.
