Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ to have Hollywood action director on board?

NEW DELHI: Superstar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are coming together for a project on- screen after a gap of five long years. The two stars will be seen on reel one more time in ‘ Tiger Zinda Hai’.

The buzz around the film is getting stronger with reports that the makers are planning to rope in famous Hollywood action director Tom Struthers for the venture, the same guy who directed the power-packed action sequences in internatio­nal blockbuste­rs such as ‘ Dark Knight’, ‘ Dark Knight Rises’, ‘ XMen: First Class’ and ‘Batman’ to name a few.

Imagine the action scenes in ‘ Tiger Zinda Hai’ if it is directed by Tom Struthers. The report has been originally attributed to Mumbai Mirror. ‘ Tiger Zinda Hai’ happens to be the sequel of 2012 superhit flick ‘ Ek Tha Tiger’ which was helmed by Kabir Khan. It will be produced by Yash Raj Films.

The sequel will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who has worked with Salman in ‘Sultan’ and with Katrina in ‘ Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on Christmas this year.

Meanwhile, Salman is reportedly venturing into the smartphone business also. As per a report in the Economic Times, Salman, who owns the Being Human clothing brand, has registered "Being Smart" trademark for his smartphone venture.

The “Being Smart” smartphone, which reportedly will come under Rs20,000 price band is set to take on the likes of Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo.

Salman has also been “building an operationa­l management team to be headed by a profession­al with leadership stints at Samsung and Micromax,” ET further wrote.

He is also in talks with several investors for his venture and plans to take the majority shareholdi­ng directly or through his family, ET report says.

The smartphone­s will “initially be sold online and later through strategic partnershi­ps with a few large cellphone and electronic retail chains,” added the report.
