KAPIT: Kapit Division Iban Community Leaders Association ( Kadica) is lauded for being very supportive of the people’s elected representatives here by working closely together with them and the government.

Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat, in saying this, added that there was only one BN team in Kapit and the people in both Kapit and Bukit Mabong districts were living harmoniously together. Kadica covers leaders in both districts.

“The ‘1BN Team’ here headed is by Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, Hulu Rajang MP Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong, Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang and myself. We work as a team to serve the people.

“We need your support because you are the ears and eyes of the government. Community leaders play very important role as bridges between the elected representatives and the government of the day,” Jamit said during a Kadica gathering at Sri Kapit in Jalan Puan Sri Tiong here recently.

He announced a government grant of RM6,000 for Kadica and RM10,000 for Kapit District Office Recreational, Social Welfare and Sports Club to carry out their activities this year.

Meanwhile, Kadica adviser Elvis Didit who is also Kapit District Officer said during their meeting earlier they had decided to go to the ground during the coming general election to ensure big majority win for the BN incumbents – Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi in Kapit and Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong in Hulu Rajang.
