PBB Mulu Youth leaders urged to be proactive and community-oriented

MIRI: Youth leaders must be proactive and community-oriented to enable them to identify the needs and problems of the people and bring it up to the government’s attention.

PBB Mulu youth chief Usat Bilong said they must be willing to sacrifice their time to work and serve as eyes and ears for their elected representa­tives ( YB) and to identify the people’s needs and relay informatio­n on the government’s action plans.

“Elected youth exco in Mulu must work hard to identify the needs of the people here and relay government plans accordingl­y as they serve as frontline to support the YB’s and the present government,” Usat said during PBB Mulu branch AGM held at Grand Palace Hotel, Miri recently.

He said as a front liner for PBB, the youth leaders must be bold and proactive to hear, see and identify any issues on the ground and work closely with the party leadership in bringing up such issues to the relevant authority for solutions.

Usat said PBB Mulu youths will organise more programmes in the constituen­cy aimed at registerin­g eligible youths to register as voters.

Meanwhile, at the AGM, Usat was re- elected as PBB Mulu youth chief.

Harry Harold Daud was elected deputy youth chief while Pedesen Bala was elected secretary.

Other office bearers are Clyde Alexander Lian (assistant secretary), Robin Ega (treasurer), Yohanis Aching (assistant treasurer), Leonard Lucas ( Informatio­n Chief), Joseph Madang Balan (assistant Informatio­n chief).

The committee members are Michael Kallang Ugom, Cyril Kuling, Willie Tingal, Roger Maran, Tuai Rumah Ridap ak Selat, Rahman Apek, Bryan Merang, Norman Manan Wan.

Co- opted members are Kennedy Kallang, Michael Ayang, Kenny Undak, Laing Silau and Ngedoo Ayu.
