‘Intergalactic Dash’ fun run to be held on May 7
KUCHING: O-run-utan Running Club, a locally registered sports club is bringing in the fourth edition of Super Rat Race on May 7 themed ‘ Intergalactic Dash’.
The superhero theme is a continuation from previous years to honour all hardworking heroes and heroines who report for duty at workplaces, homes and schools everyday.
“Adults and children alike go through the same daily routine of working hard to earn a living or gain education just to be heroes to their families and loved ones.
“So for just one day in a year, everyone should be entitled to feel like a super-powered being who makes a difference to those around them,” said race director of Super Rat Race, Brandon Lim.
Participants are encouraged to come dressed in their most sci-fi or space adventurer costumes for a 5km non- competitive fun run to be flagged off at 7am from Kuching South City Council building.
Proceeds from this year’s Super Rat Race will be donated to the Society for Critically Sick Children or SOS Kids as they are popularly known.
SOS Kids is a charitable organisation aimed at improving the care of critically ill children who require continuous medical support both in hospitals and at home, as well as providing counselling, moral support and financial aid for these children and their families.
SOS Kids, among other objectives, also strive to create public awareness and disseminate medically sound information on childhood diseases to parents. For more information, visit www. facebook.com/ soskidskuchingsarawak.
