A student from SMK Limbang also scored seven straight As in the exam, bringing the number of straight A achievers in the district to seven, seven times more than the previous year.

Limbang District education officer Mohamad Tangah yesterday was delighted with the good performance as the feat was last achieved in 2015 when only one student achieved straight As.

Mohamad said Limbang District scored a CGPA grade of 5.51, making it the top ten out of the 31 districts in the state in the SPM 2016 results.

He attributed the success to the hard work and efforts of teachers in the respective schools.

“This achievement is also a result of continuous efforts of teachers in carrying programmes and activities to equip students with the skills of learning and answering questions,” he said when announcing the results at Limbang Education Office.

Thanking the teachers for their commitment and hard work, Mohamad however said the district education office would conduct a post-mortem on the performance in History subject.

Limbang registered a pass percentage of 83 for the subject, a relatively low figure compared to other subjects.

Present were Limbang District assistant education officer Suraya Habibollah and Evaluation and Examination Unit head Pengiran Selutan.
