4,243 units under PR1MA sold up to Jan this year

-

A TOTAL of 4,243 units under the 1Malaysia People’s Housing Project ( PR1MA) had been sold up to January, this year.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said the sale of PR1MA houses was expected to increase when more of such projects were launched.

“To increase sales of the units, PR1MA is holding a series of Open House nationwide, with a one- stop concept to provide services directly to the public in purchasing the houses.”

He said this in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday in reply to a question from Datuk Shabudin Yahaya ( BN-Tasek Gelugor) on how many PR1MA units had been sold and on new innovations to improve the quality and price of such units.

Shahidan said PR1MA had incorporated the Industrialised Building System ( IBS) into the construction of the houses, with a complete ecosystem that took into consideration a short construction period, use of optimal costs and guaranteed quality of the houses.

“In comparison, PR1MA is able to get ready two units of model houses within 60 days with this system while using the conventional system will take three to six months for completion.

“Currently, 18,919 PR1MA units are being built using the IBS and more projects in future are expected to use his innovative method,” he said. — Bernama
