Man accused of criminal intimidation released on RM2,000 bail

SIBU: A 53-year- old man, who pleaded not guilty for a charge of criminal intimidation, was ordered by the Magistrate’s Court here yesterday to be released on a RM2,000 bail with two sureties.

Lau Chee King was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which provides for a jail term of up to seven years or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

He is accused of having brandished a kitchen knife in front of Wong Lien Hee, 48, whom he allegedly threatened to kill, around 10.30am on June 20 last year inside a coffee shop at Pedada Road.

Lau is to appear in court again this April 19 for a pre-trial case management.
