Kibing Group to make Malaysia hub for glass production

-

SEREMBAN: Kibing Group ( M) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of China- based Zhuzhou Kibing Group Co Ltd, is planning on making Malaysia the hub for the production of high-quality glass.

Managing Director Lim Swee Ee said the company was targeting the Middle East and South East Asian markets for its glass production with the opening of its RM900 million factory in Senawang.

Lim said the first phase of the high- technology factory, built on 24.28 hectares, took a year to complete.

The second phase, costing RM450 million, would begin next month and was expected to be completed by February 2018, he told reporters after the opening of the factory by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan yesterday.

“We are looking to produce 1,400 tonnes of glass per day when we begin operations next month.

“Besides catering for the export markets of the Middle East, Indonesia and Thiland, 50 per cent of our production will be set aside for the local market,” he added. — Bernama
