Setting of Pakatan Harapan Sarawak right move — Ling

-

MIRI: State DAP secretary Alan Ling says the official setting up of Pakatan Harapan Sarawak is the right move to overcome three- cornered fights in the upcoming general election.

He said this was the best stretagy to contest in straight fights against BN candidates in the upcoming election.

“We cannot afford to fight among each other. There is lesson to be learnt from past experience,” Ling said yesterday, pointing to the May last year state election when DAP and PKR contested in six overlapped seats.

He said the ultimate mission of GE14 was to save the nation from the current predicament of weak economy and the internationallyknown scandal involving 1MDB; there was a need to ‘overhaul’ the country’s administration.

“Think for your children. If you are having financial problem to meet day-to- day needs caused in parts by GST, how about them? They will suffer even more if we do not stand up to correct the situation.”

He urged the people not to give up hope and feel ‘ tired’, because the ‘ tiredness’ they felt now was the result of poor governance and weak administration.

Ling is former Piasau assemblyman (from 2011 to 2016) wining the seat from former SUPP president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Geroge Chan.

Due to his consistent ground work and popularity among the electorates, he was said to be the party’s choice to stand in Miri seat, which is now being held by PKR. Ling however refused to comment on the subject when asked about him being fielded in Miri.

“A win for PH Sarawak is a win for the nation no matter who stands in Miri. I will support whoever the candidate is for the sake of the national PH agenda.”

Meanwhile, Ling has been made DAP Sarawak representative in PH Sarawak secretariat to foster closer cooperation and to formulate manifesto.
