EduQuest holds info, registration day in Kuching

-

KUCHING: The EduQuest University’s Information and Registration Day was held at a hotel here yesterday from 1pm to 5pm.

The event by EduQuest Education Services ( EduQuest) came on the heels of the release of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results on March 16.

EduQuest education manager Michael Yii said: “Since its inception in 2002, EduQuest has helped thousands of students in achieving their dream in furthering their studies.

“The main objective of this event is to provide an opportunity for parents and students to speak directly to representatives from the universities.

“Today we see a huge crowd coming in to enquire about choices of courses and careers. I believe they now have a better idea on planning for their future education.”

In order to reward students who applied for and enrolled in a course during the event, some participating institutions waived the application/ registration fees.

According to Yii, well-received courses among students are A- Levels, South Australian Matriculation, University Foundation, medicine, pharmacy, engineering, law, business, accounting, fi nance, hospitality, tourism, architecture and design.

Some students also enquired about non-traditional courses like traditional Chinese medicine, real estate management, film production, culinary arts, aircraft maintenance, physiotherapy, and occupational safety and health. This indicated that students were more equipped with current knowledge about various courses and career choices.

Yii also pointed out that many universities and colleges also offered attractive scholarships, bursaries and incentives for deserving students. Additionally, students may also be eligible for financial aid from government agencies like Yayasan Sarawak, National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) and various corporations.

Besides providing free professional advice concerning more than 150 universities and colleges in Malaysia and overseas, EduQuest also provides students with support on accommodation arrangements, airport pick-ups, scholarship and financial aid applications, and more.

It also provides pre- departure briefi ngs so that students are well informed and prepared before leaving for their destination.
