Traditional Games Carnival at Kampung Rembus next month

KUCHING: Sarawak Dayak National Union ( SDNU) Samarahan will be organising a Traditional Games Carnival at Kampung Rembus in Kota Samarahan on April 1 (Saturday).

According to branch spokesman David Emai, the carnival will be a platform for old and new branch members to foster closer relationships.

Side programmes at the carnival are a recruitment drive, welfare activities and talks on useful matters.

Calling for participants yesterday, David said among the traditional games would be blowpipe competition (men’s and women’s categories); a one- on- one tug- of-war Batak Lampung using a piece of wooden stick ( men’s and women’s categories), ketupat weaving, and bowling using coconuts.

Spectators and participants will also be treated to a karaoke session.
