Senior lecturer talks on Gliddon’s testimony on Rajah James Brooke
KUCHING: Dr John H Walker will talk on the topic ‘Contested Reputation: Revisiting William Gliddon’s Testimony concerning James Brooke’ at 14 Chairs, China House at the Old Courthouse on March 28.
Walker is a retired senior lecturer of International and Political Studies at UNSW Canberra.
He is also an accomplished author of many books and articles on the Brooke era and related history.
The talk, which will start at 7pm, is organised by Friends of Sarawak Museum (FoSM).
Walker will be focusing on William Gliddon’s insight into James Brooke’s career and ambition. Gliddon had witnessed some of Brooke’s important achievements, having lived in Sarawak and Brunei in the 1840s.
