PRS, PBB, SPDP to jointly host pre-Gawai do
SIBU: A pre- Gawai celebration jointly hosted by Parti Rakyat Sarawak ( PRS), Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB) and Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party ( SPDP) will be held at Selangau District multi-purpose hall this May 20.
According to spokesperson in charge of publicity Ngumbang Awit, Minister in Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun, who is also Selangau MP, will officiate at the opening of the celebration cum dinner gathering.
He said the theme of the celebration this year would be ‘Seati, Segulai, Sejalai’ (‘One Heart, Togetherness, One Road’) and 100 dinner tables would be set up, with tickets priced at RM300 per table.
“We are selling (tickets) to members of the public in and around Selangau District or those interested to take part in the gathering,” he told reporters here yesterday after a preparation meeting chaired by organising committee chairman Penghulu Juranpang Ratoh at Selangau Service Centre.
Adding on, Ngumbang said among the activities lined up for the night would be ‘Kumang Gawai’, singing performances and lucky draws.
“We are inviting interested women from across the district to take part in the ‘Kumang Gawai’ pageant,” he said.
