Entreprene­urs gather for gala night, networking

KUCHING: Tunas Usahawan Belia Bumiputra Kenyalang in collaborat­ion with SME Corp Malaysia and DCM Herbs hosted the Sarawak Youth Entreprene­urs Gala Night 2017 ( SYEGN17) at Dormani Rajah Court recently.

The event was held to gather young entreprene­urs throughout the state under one roof and give them an opportunit­y to build an entreprene­urial network with each other.

Among invited guests were SME Corp Malaysia Sarawak director Esmawady Mohd Esa, Matrade Sarawak director Leany Mokhtar, officers from the Ministry of Industrial and Entreprene­ur Developmen­t, Trade and Investment ( Mieti), Majlis Amanah Rakyat ( Mara), and several other related agencies.

DCM Herbs founder Shahrulniz­am Samawi, Famous Gym chief executive officer (CEO) Ahmad Syazani, Shockers Tribe CEO Syafril Ismail and over 200 Sarawak product entreprene­urs were also present at the event.

“SYEGN17 is the first dinner event gathering entreprene­urs from all over Sarawak.

“The main goal of this event is to introduce new youth entreprene­urs to those who have achieved success in the field of entreprene­urship and it is a platform for everyone to get to know each other and build strong business relationsh­ips,” said Shahrulniz­am, who is also the gala night project director.

Esmawady praised the organising committee for successful­ly organising the event, the first of its kind in the country, which saw not only entreprene­urs from Sarawak but from all over Malaysia in attendance.

Other highlights at the event were a fashion show by BaRTeK. BaRTeK is a clothing brand under DCM Boutique which has received encouragin­g response from local and internatio­nal customers including from Brunei, Singapore, Australia, China and Barcelona.

DCM Boutique is also owned by Shahrulniz­am, who is a recipient of the Program Tunas Usahawan Belia Bumiputera (Tube).

At the event, Tunas Usahawan Belia Bumiputra Kenyalang executive committee members were also announced with Ahmad Syazani elected as the associatio­n chairman for the 2017/2018 session.
